MrBeast is Best Known For

Being YouTube’s biggest philanthropist and still being able to make money off it. He’s quite the uncanny businessman, and we mean that in a good way. After all, if you can inspire great acts of generosity and have it all come back to you financially, it’s a win-win all around. For him, for the participants, and for all of culture and humanity.

How Much does MrBeast Make From YouTube?

MrBeast’s YouTube channel currently has over 114 million subscribers.

YouTube channels make between $3 to $5 per 1,000 views. Let’s take the midpoint of that at $4. MrBeast has had his channel since 2012 and currently has over 19 billion views thus far. With that enormous view count, he has made at least $76 million from YouTube ad revenue alone. That doesn’t even take into account any sponsorships or brand deals that he accepts along the way, which could easily surpass his YouTube ad revenue multiple times over.

MrBeast Early Life

Jimmy Donaldson aka MrBeast got his start on YouTube in 2012 at the age of 13. In his early YouTube day, MrBeast mainly did video games, but he got tired of doing so. He changed the direction of his videos to, well… basically no direction, until he stumbled upon challenges and philanthropy videos which drive most of his successful videos to this day.

Did MrBeast Grow Up Poor?

MrBeast grew up in a middle-class household with a relatively modest upbringing. His family wasn’t exceedingly poor nor rich. He did not grow up in a state with a huge cost of living such as New York or California, but rather in North Carolina which has the 24th lowest cost of living in the US.

In order to fund his video in which he gave $10,000 to a homeless man, he asked for a sponsorship from an unknown individual. As to what the arrangement was in terms of how the individual was paid back, no one knows but MrBeast and the individual sponsor themselves.

MrBeast’s Big Break

One of his videos was called “I Counted to 100,000!” and quickly became a viral sensation. This was back in 2017 and the rest is history.

Top Individual Youtuber

in 2022, MrBeast officially overtook PewDiePie as the number 1 individual Youtuber. Unfortunately, he is not the number 1 Youtuber in the world, that title goes to T-Series, an Indian Bollywood song channel.

Unlike the 2018 PewDiePie vs T-Series subscriber battle, in which MrBeast did his part to support PewDiePie, this overtaking in ranking was not met with any hostility.

MrBeast’s Girlfriend

Jimmy and Maddy Spidell dated starting in 2019 but have since broken up. She has appeared in some of his videos. There is no comment as to the breakup by MrBeast and he wishes for all to respect Maddy’s privacy.

MrBeast is currently dating Thea Booysen in a long-distance relationship. The couple reportedly started dating as early as February 2022.

MrBeast’s Philanthropy

He has a channel dedicated solely to philanthropy, aptly named Beast Philanthropy. It is officially registered as a 501(c)3 organization. He’s done quite a few things on it, including:

  • planting 20 million trees
  • donating school supplies
  • building homes for the homeless
  • building wells in Africa
  • donating meals
  • feeding families for Thanksgiving
  • helping hurricane survivors
  • giving money away to students

Oh, and on his main channel, he’s given his mom $100,000, paid off her remaining mortgage, and bought his dad a new car to replace his old one, if you can count that as philanthropy.

MrBeast on Threads

MrBeast became the first person on the new social networking platform Threads, to reach a million followers. In celebration, MrBeast hosted a giveaway of a Tesla Model 3. Many people are appreciating the irony of this giveaway since Threads is a direct competitor of Twitter, which is owned by the Tesla CEO, Elon Musk.

Thanks to the giveaway, MrBeast is currently the user with the highest number of followers on Threads.
