What is the Prism App?

Prism by BillGo is a financial mobile app that allows users to pay their bills from one convenient place. It was previously known as Mobilligy Bill Pay, and is currently available for both iOS and Android devices for free.
Prism aggregates everything into one place to see exactly what’s happening with your money, including your bills due, scheduled payments, and balances. You can also pay instantly or set up future payments as you go.
You can also use Prism as a personal assistant of sorts since it will notify you when bills are due, giving you various options on how to pay them. You’ll no longer have to worry about forgetting or missing a payment since it’s all right there.
Prism supports most billers in the US, including telecom providers and utility companies; however, some notable exceptions like Comcast and AT&T are currently (at the time of writing) not supported by this app.
Prism Highlights

How does Prism by BillGo work?
Prism prides itself in its simplicity as evidenced once you open its app; you’ll find three tabs for you to select:
- The first tab is the amount you want to pay, which can either be the full amount, minimum amount, or a customized amount.
- The second tab enables you to choose which payment account you would like to use to pay your bills, be it a credit card, debit card, or any other valid online payment method.
- And the third tab is the date of when you’d like to make the payment, be it instantly or on a scheduled date.
When paying bills with Prism by BillGo, you won’t have to worry about forgetting due dates. The app can send notifications about your upcoming payments straight to your phone.
They’ve processed over $1 billion in paid bills, so they know what they’re doing.
Prism by BillGo App Features
Prism has an excellent user interface that is easy to navigate. It has just enough features to make it feel like it has a lot of functionality without feeling like a cluttered mess. With that being said, we have compiled the app’s most notable features.
Bill payments. The main dashboard of the Prism app shows all of your accounts in one place. You can see balances, pending transactions, and due dates for bills. You can also search for transactions, pay your bills, add new accounts and add or edit billers.
Categorization. Your supermarket transactions are categorized as “Groceries,” and utility payments are categorized as “Utilities.” Some subcategories include subcategories to further break down spending. If you pay a bill for heating and air conditioning services, it will be categorized as “Utilities” with a subcategory of “Heating & A/C.”
Account syncing. Prism syncs with over 13,000 different banks and credit unions to automatically import biller information and transaction history. Once your accounts are linked to Prism, all of your information is updated each day automatically.
Automatic bill tracking. The more organized you are with your finances, the better off you’ll be. To do just that, by keeping track of your bills in Prism, you can simply link your online accounts to the app and let it collect your data. That means you don’t have to manually enter anything, which reduces the chances of entering information incorrectly.
Bill splitting. If you have roommates or love going out with large groups of friends, this feature is for you! With a few taps on your smartphone screen, you can split an expense and send payment requests to those who owe you money. This is a great way to avoid awkward conversations about who should pay for what.
Great customer support. Customer support is one of the most overlooked factors in the financial industry, and more often than not, you’ll be left with no help when you need it most. Not so with Prism; their customer support team is available 24/7, and they quickly respond to all requests. This is surprising because they’re such a small company – just about 20 employees in total! They also provide an FAQ page on their website that answers common questions where you can access basic help and instructions to help resolve any issue you may be encountering.
Payment reminders. You’ll never forget to make a payment again with this handy feature. When it’s time to pay a bill, Prism will send you an email or text message reminding you that it’s due.
Ease of use. Prism is designed to be incredibly easy to use, even for people who aren’t very tech-savvy or don’t have much experience managing money online.
How Much Does The Prism App Cost? Is Prism Free?
The Prism app is 100% free to use.
In fact, if they mess up and you incur a late payment fee, you’ll be reimbursed up to $1,000 on their Prism Payment Promise program. However, they do have a penalty charge which we’ll explain below.
Does Prism Charge You to Pay Bills?
The Prism app does not charge you to pay bills. They offer free same-day bill pay, and the bills get paid in seconds. You can also schedule payments weeks in advance.
However, there is a returned item charge of $15 if they attempt to pay a bill on your behalf, but you have insufficient funds in your account.
How Does Prism Make Their Money?
Prism by BillGo is quite transparent about the way they make their money, and they do so via several avenues:
- Ad display, which is typical of many free-to-use apps.
- Some billers partner with Prism and provide them with a small payment in exchange for getting their money quicker.
- Prism offers alternative methods of payment for users. For this, they charge a small convenience fee. It is totally optional, so you won’t be charged without your consent. For example, some utility companies only offer bank payments, but if you’d rather pay via credit card, Prism allows you this option.

Pros and Cons of Prism App by BillGo: The Pros
Prism App Pros
- All accounts are paid in one place. You can see all your accounts in one place, so you won’t even have to visit any other website, ever. You can also see your payment history and what you owe on each bill. The billing app’s goal is to make paying bills as easy as possible for you, and boy do they deliver.
- Prism tells you what you owe and when you owe it. They offer their users e-mail or text reminders when their bills are due, which should definitely come in handy, especially if you have a hard time keeping track of when things are due.
- Bills are paid in seconds and for free. Unlike other billing apps that offer a small amount of functionality to help you manage your bills, Prism does everything from scheduling payments in advance to actually paying the bills for you.
- You can schedule payments on the same day or weeks in advance. It’s your choice, but Prism is there to help you out even if you’re in a time crunch for same-day payments.
- The app’s customer service is impeccable. For a small company with relatively few employees, it’s amazing that they’ve got 24/7 customer service.
- Prism links with more than 13,000 billers. These comprise of mostly utility companies and banks in the U.S. You can add any biller that accepts online payments, including utility companies, credit cards, mobile phones, cable companies, insurance agencies, etc.
Pros and Cons of Prism App by BillGo: The Cons
Prism App Cons
- Setup concerns. The bills you pay through Prism are sent from your bank account to those of the companies you owe. To do this, you must link your bank account to the app. While the app uses bank-level security and other safeguards, this setup could concern some people.
- Limited reward-earning options. Those who pay their bills with credit cards will find that they don’t have as many options to earn rewards.
- Mobile payments may not be supported yet by billers. Many billers don’t accept mobile payments yet. This means that you might not be able to pay your bills through Prism if you’re dealing with an older company or a small utility provider in a remote area.
- Limited functionality. As much as we want to do everything through the app, Prism still has some limitations to its functionality. For example, you can’t make transfers between accounts using Prism. You also can’t edit transaction descriptions or add notes to transactions. If you want those features, you’ll have to log into your bank website or mobile banking app.
Is the Prism by BillGo App Safe?
Prism is not only a powerful tool to help you manage your money, but it’s also safe, secure, and easy to use. Here are the specifics:
